About Us
The Isles of Scilly Community Venture is a not-for profit company focused on developing projects that will help Scilly become fit for the future – self-sufficient, resilient and low carbon.
Our core purpose is to design and deliver projects that support long‑term sustainability, reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, and keep economic and environmental benefits within the local community. Our early work centred on the Smart Islands programme, which introduced renewable energy generation, smart home technologies, and innovative systems to cut energy costs and carbon emissions.
Local Benefit Focus
We aim to ensure that any value created from its projects directly benefits residents and businesses. This includes initiatives such as community car‑sharing, EV charging infrastructure, and an energy clinic that helps households understand bills, adopt smart meters, and access locally generated renewable power at lower prices.
Our overarching purpose is to build a future where the Isles of Scilly community can thrive economically and environmentally for generations to come.
